From the campground you'll turn right as the paved road relents to gravel. You'll immediately cross the one-lane bridge over the Lewis River, swing left and head uphill quickly as you enter the forest on Road 41. You'll follow Road 41 about 9.5 miles to a open clearing with views all around. The trailhead is not marked and is at the southern end of the large parking area.
