Blue Lake (Mt. St. Helens)

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Shallow Blue Lake surrounded by old growth forest (bobcat)

Description

Blue Lake is a shallow lake fed by Coldspring Creek on the southwest slope of Mount Saint Helens. As with June Lake and McBride Lake, Blue Lake was little affected by the 1980 eruption. However, like both of these lakes, the denuded slopes of the mountain have given rise to debris flows that have silted up these bodies of water.

There are some huge noble firs in the vicinity of Blue Lake. This is the area where this tree reaches its most massive proportions.
