Description

This bridge is one of several on the Tillamook Branch that were famous among railfans for decades. Today, it's one of the most dramatic trail bridges everywhere. There are old tank cars at either end that once provided a source of water for fire prevention. The western pier seems to have shifted a bit and there's a noticeable dogleg in the entire structure. The bridge is named for Big Baldwin Creek which flows far below.

Note: This structure was constructed about 1916 and all maintenance was suspended in 2007. The bridge was safe enough at our last visit in 2009, but hikers should be on the lookout for loose walkway boards or unreliable handrails.
