Hardy Ridge and Hamilton Mt. Loop

Post by Adrian1208 » January 28th, 2011, 3:36 pm

Did this loop last Sat. Nice day to be outdoors. Started about 10 at Equestrian trail head, then up the east trail of Hardy Ridge to almost the summit. Snow got pretty deep so i turned around and headed down east ridge trail to the connector with hardy creek trail and up to Hamilton. This was my first time coming down on the "more difficult" route and last. I'd rather go up that steep part. Connected back with Hardy ridge trail via Hardy Creek Trail. Got lots of curios looks from people that I've met on top, and on their way down saw me on the way back up. Whole loop is about 12.5 miles. Had been up Hamilton plenty and on Hardy ridge but first time combining them. Here's some pictures.

Boy did you have the weather working for you. It doesn't matter how many mountains I summit in SW Washington or out of the Gorge on the Oregon side, in 2010 and so far in 2011, I have yet to see Mt. Adams more than once. It's always cloudy in that direction.
