Come along for a highlight reel of the McKenzie from yesterday and this morning. Out the door at 6a and at Lower Proxy Falls a bit before 9am...
10:30ish at the Blue Pool...
A quick warning for anyone planning on being in the area during..
The noon rainbow at Koosah Falls..
In the mists at the base of Sahalie Falls..
A few looks at Sahalie..
I couldn't quite get this one to line up the way I wanted but it was the only one blooming..
The Three Sisters from the loop trail around Clear Lake..
Great Spring..
Serviceberry is blooming all around the southeast side of the lake..
And great trillium colors..
All my stuff...
So I waited around a couple hours for sunset (not like I really had anything else to do.. ) and it was a complete non-event, no color whatsoever. But around 530 this morning...Wow...
One last early lap around the lake this morning and I was ready to come back. The main reason I stayed over was just to break up the drive and hopefully catch a nice sunset and/or sunrise. Seemed to work out ok...

Just a hard place to beat and it really only takes me a few minutes longer to get to Clear Lake from Tigard than it does Lost or Timothy.

Only an hour and a half from Proxy to Tamolitch? Is the snow gate at White Branch open?
Re: Proxy/BluePool/Koosah/Sahalie/GreatSpring/Clear Lake 5/2
Yes, the outer gate is open. You can drive right to the trailhead. Not too many people must know yet, I didn't see a soul on the trail or road.kaltbluter wrote:Only an hour and a half from Proxy to Tamolitch? Is the snow gate at White Branch open?
