On Friday, hiked up the meadows between the Labyrinth and Coyote Wall. Snow encountered consistently at 1,000 feet. Two or three inches in the meadow and more in the oak grove cross-over trail at 1300 feet. By Sunday, I understand that all of the meadow snow had melted.
The Hobbit Trail at the base of Coyote Wall has a closure sign. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the bike trail descending through the "Indian Pit" area was also closed. The Forest Service is also flagging some new trails.
On the wildflower scene, the seasons's first balsamroot with six blooms was seen at the base of the Labyrinth, as was the forst naked broom rape. The grass widow have already started their retreat uphill. So, if you want to catch that purple iris, you better start hiking.
