Robin and Tuck Lakes in Alpine Lakes Wilderness, the goats got very close. Yes, disconcerting.

Too bad Tuck Robin are so busy. I guess they're like the Enchantments would be if they didn't have those restrictive permits.

Tuck was busy but beautiful. We'd heard the goats were at Robin, but since they visited us at Tuck, we didn't have to make the trip.

A recent report from elsewhere about Tuck Lake on a weekend.
Arrived to the trailhead around 10:00am to find cars parked half a mile down the road and then leading all the way up to the three parking areas. People everywhere. Not to mention the hundreds of people dispersed camping along the entire forest road to the trailhead. Hiked up to Tuck Lake (one of the harder trails to backpack due to the sheer elevation gain in the last mile up to the lake) and it was just overrun with people. Toilet paper tucked into the underbrush in a lot of spots. People camping RIGHT next to the water. Attempted to hike up to Robin Lake and again, nowhere to camp. We could have camped on ground cover but we knew it was not the right thing to do so we had to head back down. Found a campsite lower in the forest and then day hiked back up to hang out at the lakes.

Went to Tuck, Granite Mt Potholes, and Robin Lakes a just a few years ago. Saw very few people there during the weekdays in mid summer. Definitely worth it, and we got our solitude we were looking for there! There was probably only three other groups there the first few nights. Just avoid the weekends, or hike out of there when everyone else is hiking up!
People started coming in by Friday, and especially by Saturday. Seems like most just came for either a one night trip on Saturday night, or camped along the way at either Hyas or Tuck Lake on Friday night, and then made it up to Robin Lakes for Saturday night.
