hammock camping on timberline trail

couple of us doing the timberline trail in mid august. I'm primarily set up for hammock camping. trees? maybe a silly question, but i really don't know. i'd hate to get out there and wish i'd swapped it out for my tent, or even a ground mat and tarp.

Plenty of trees, just a few stretches without. Much of the Timberline trail is actually well below the timberline.

You should be fine most of the way around the mountain.

My one bit of advice would be to bring 12 to 15ft straps. Some places like Cairn Basin have only very large trees. Also avoid meadows.

East side, from cloud cap to gnarl ridge doesn't have many trees for hammock

Yes, 3 of us hammock camped on TT last summer. Plenty of places to camp throughout most of the trail. As other noted, there is a stretch on the east side has a stretch where it wouldn't work too well. But it's mostly dry/arid and IMO, not the great spot to camp anyway.

2019 TT trip report

As noted in the trip report above, we had also had trouble finding a desirable spot in the zigzag canyon section - best to find a spot somewhere on the between Sandy and Rushing Water Creek (maybe not as much of an issue going CW) or better yet, getting up to Paradise Park. If you get there early enough, you should be able to find a spot, and get to enjoy some outstanding views of the mountain and vistas looking out. I stayed at Paradise last week for the first time and it was beautiful.
