The weather was cool to start but warmed up quickly. It turned out to be a great day for this hike. The whole drive there was in low clouds. As we hiked up the Jeep road, we broke out of the clouds and had great visibility of all the mountains
We worked our way to the top and stopped for a break.
This is where we saw a goat. Was sitting in the same spot the whole time.
From the top it was located about here under Ed’s Trail.
Don’t tell Chip, but this is the 3rd time in 4 visits to Silver Star that I have seen a goat.
On the ridge on the way back down, the flowers were amazing!
(Continued....)
After reaching the ridge, we decided to go over to Ed’s trail. It has been a few years since we did this. I had forgotten that there are a few steep areas where you need to climb using your hands. Views from here were fantastic.
View of our goal from Ed's trail.
I think this was the best flower and mountain view I had on SS.Silver Star 6-25-2020

Yesss!
We went a couple weeks ago and it was still quite drizzly, and just a hair too early for the columbine and tiger lilies. But we caught some of the other glacier lilies and penstemon and lots of other little beauties.
We drove our new old Subaru Legacy up the Jeep road too, which was really fun.
Glad you got such a good weather day! And thanks for all the photos.

To be honest, 2 of the 3 sighting were from someone with better eyesight seeing a small white dot that I magnified with my zoom lens. Otherwise, I would not have seen it.Chip Down wrote: ↑June 26th, 2020, 10:25 pmHmm...dmthomas49 wrote: ↑June 26th, 2020, 5:41 amDon’t tell Chip, but this is the 3rd time in 4 visits to Silver Star that I have seen a goat.
