Thanks for that link. That's a little easier to orient than the Forest Service map.retired jerry wrote: ↑June 15th, 2020, 9:15 amIf you look at http://adamschneider.net/hiking/snow_depth.html
Click on "usgs topo" and it will overlay that so you can orient yourself
I have noticed that if it shows any snow, there's probably a lot. It gives an average over an area, but a trail will be on a ridge where there's more snow.

Re: 2020 Snow Level
I actually walked just a mile of the Timberline Trail. It's basically tundra in that stretch. There are more flowers blooming on other sections of the trail. As seen in photo, remarkably little snow, considering the elevation. There will surely be more snow elsewhere on TLT, but I can't offer details. No mosquitoes where I was, even as I ascended from 4000'. That won't last long, sadly.NotEvenJail37 wrote: ↑June 29th, 2020, 8:20 pmChip, how was the trail looking? I’m down to two weeks till I go. Wildflowers? River crossings? Mosquitos? Also, thanks for the picture. Can’t wait
Re: 2020 Snow Level
On Killen Ck, Mt Adams, the snow becomes pretty much full just below PCT junction, patchy for a milt below that. The Round the Mouontain Trail is melted out only on truly south-facing areas. West facing still have a lot of snow. Without a heat wave in the forecast, it will be nearly the end of July before it is truly snow-free.
