Decided to take a break from chasing owls/birds/wildlife and hit Mt. Hood for the day.
The hike reminded me of what weekend crowds were like in around 2005-2008, so it was nice to not have 75+ cars at the top spur TH. Counted around 20-25 this round.
Carried the 100-400 II + 80d combo during the hike, as this is the usual bird chasing/wildlife setup, but also has a min focus distance of 38" @ 400mm, thus giving a convenient level of options without the need to change lenses.
The flys were present, but didn't get any bites; Weather was in my mind the perfect temp around 70-75 deg, without an insane amt of wind @ the top viewpoint.
Finally had a website setup: https://chrismarkes.smugmug.com/

Lovely shots, all of them.

Great shots ............
I was going to comment on the bugs too. Wife and I made the trip via the Mazama Trail on the 10th and 11th.
No bugs what so ever. But we did have rain from midnite till 6am.
Visibility at times, 30 ft. We'll be back next month.

I suppose the first pic in the second set is the Sandy ice shelf. Cool feature. I bet it will still be there when I expire; it's something I'll be keeping an eye on.

Thanks everyone!
The glacier photo I believe is the Sandy.... I was debating Glisan, but it appears that's on the other side with the ladd/coe?
We'll let the experts chime in:
