McNeil Point Campsite Recommendation?

Post by discodan7700 » July 13th, 2019, 7:53 pm

I am planning an overnight in the McNeil Point area this weekend. I am looking for a campsite recommendation.

I am looking for something that has good opportunity to see sunset and sunrise. Also, easy access to water would be nice.

Thank you,

water - go about 1/4 mile on the trail, northeast from the shelter

camping - anywhere above the shelter, many places within 1/4 mile. or on the trail past the water stream

There's no water, but there is enough space to camp way high up on the ridge, above the shelter. I've done it a few times and really enjoyed the views. Terrific place for golden hour views (especially during the Dollar Lake Fire).

Good luck!
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.
