2019 Snow Level
Re: 2019 Snow Level
I'm in the same situation as you alligtorjoe. Looking for any reports in anticipation of a 4th-7th 'round-the-mountain. Thanks in advance!

Re: 2019 Snow Level
Hiked Timberline Trail June 28-29, very little or no snow below 5000 feet, many 100-300 ft sections of snow above 6000 feet between cloud cap campground and gnarl ridge, 5000-6000 feet snow had some impact 10-100' sections

awesome, thanks gang! hood here we come!!!
Re: 2019 Snow Level
Yes, thank you very much for that report! We were actually considering Three Sisters circumnavigation as an alternate, but the depth and coverage there, through the Green Lakes/Broken Top saddle and southern PCT seem much worse than anything at Hood!

Re: 2019 Snow Level
A couple years ago the worst snow on Three Sisters was on the west side, from about Obsidian Falls south. Probably the same this year. There was snow north of Green Lakes over that pass, but easier to negotiate.
Re: 2019 Snow Level
I wonder how many readers mourn the loss of snow, believing (as I do) that we're already past ideal conditions, and every bit of remaining snow should be savored.

Re: 2019 Snow Level
I'm hoping to do the hike around Three Finger Jack in a couple days. Does anyone know how the trail is? I checked with the Forest Service, they said some hikers got lost due to snow around the Minto Pass area but that was a couple weeks ago. Any insight into current snow levels?

snow model says no snow
I have found that when the snow model goes to zero, they'll still be some snow at places, but it's doable if you don't mind some snow
