yellow flower on Knebal Springs trail

I've seen these for years but usually after they've flowered and just have a ton of seeds. I've spent time with my book and the web and still don't know what they are.

It's silvercrown (Cacaliopsis nardosmia, a.k.a. Cacalia nardosmia, a.k.a. Luina nardosmia).

Yes, that's it. Now that I know the name, it is in my Falcon Guide "Pacific Northwest Wildflowers". Their picture leaves something to be desired, unfortunately.
