TH #3372 Opal Lake conditions?

Hello - I tried this hike about a month ago but I got half way up and found a wall of snow (which I half expected since it was May and we had a rough winter) . Elevation is about 3500’..... any ideas on if I could chance it again?

If not, anybody willing to share with me a couple of hikes that are smokier and just as unknown? I love the Opal Creek Wilderness / Willamette forest area, it’s absolutely gorgeous, but some of the hikes are just so dang crowded.... hoping I can find a cool place to pull up and camp over night. Please help!
