The last day to object to this is tomorrow (Monday the 31st) I believe. To re-iterate if you did not make a comment on the initial plan in the spring you are screwed and wasting your time to do this, basically. You are better served to contact your elected representatives about this.

Re: Visit the Central Cascades while you still can...
So I got this in my e mail today anyone else?
Good morning,
We received an objection letter from you during the administrative review period for the Central Cascades Wilderness Strategies Project.
We would like to offer some opportunities to meet with the Forest Supervisors (John Allen and/or Tracy Beck) to discuss the issues you raised with the proposed decision.
If you are interested, please make a choice for the most convenient location and we will try to schedule 30 to 45 minutes meetings within the timeframe listed.
Please reply to this email and provide your full name and phone number as well.
Note: There will be an opportunity for objectors to attend an Objection Resolution meeting with the reviewing officer, which in this case is the Deputy Regional Forester. The Pacific Northwest Regional Office will be notifying you of that opportunity.

I got one of those too. Unfortunately, all the scheduling options are far from here on weekdays. No way I'd be able to go to one.

except for one in Springfield, OR - basically Eugene + a couple of miles
Re: Visit the Central Cascades while you still can...
Yep, I'll be scheduling a meeting since I live in Bend. You should each demand a phone or Skype meeting since I bet most of you live in the Portland area. Or request they take a visit to Portland!
Re: Visit the Central Cascades while you still can...
I emailed Beth Peer, the Forest Service special projects coordinator who sent the email, and asked if they would do a Portland session. She said not a lot of people from Portland filed objections with them and that I was the first she'd heard from. She offered to do a conference call with me. So anyone from here who did object should email back to them if you want to have your voice heard.

Wow, I wonder what "not a lot of people" is. I call bs on that.Bosterson wrote: ↑February 6th, 2019, 5:20 pmI emailed Beth Peer, the Forest Service special projects coordinator who sent the email, and asked if they would do a Portland session. I'm scheduled to meet with them on Monday.
Re: Visit the Central Cascades while you still can...
So I attended my meeting today. There were only 44 objections filed.
44.
This is out of the several hundred people who initially sent in a comment. That's discouraging.
So if you live in Portland and can't get in to a meeting, *please* request a phone meeting.
There is also an official meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 26 with an objections officer (you should have received an email). Teleconference options will be offered. Put it on your calendar!
