Palmer Mill Fireplace

Post by Sugar Pine » December 3rd, 2018, 9:06 pm

Went on a short hike up Palmer Mill Road, turned right at the orange gate, crossed Bridal Veil creek and then up the hill to a gravel road (don't know the name or number of the road). The forest off this gravel road was clear-cut. The remaining trees did not appear fire damaged.

I am eyeing the roads on SE side of Bridal Veil creek, now that trails on BV Plateau are decommissioned. If they replant this clearcut, it will get prettier in just a few years. It seems like a loop is possible there, crossing BV Creek like you did and doing a short bushwhack up to Rd 1520 (or is it all clear cut now?), then taking 1520 all the way down.. Thanks for the heads up!

That clear cut was done in 2011 and 2012 and is private property and was posted before but doesn't seem to be posted now that the equipment has been pulled out. I think it was owned by Longview Timber.
