Oregon Hikers Collaboration Map

Post by buckwheat » February 28th, 2017, 5:36 am

Howdy hikers -

I know lots of you are Portland based, but I thought it might be convenient to have a visual map of other hikers from the forum, in efforts to find partners, or just to get a geographic sense of who might know any area. In light of that, I created a shareable/editable google map, where people can add pins for their location (be as precise or vague as you feel comfortable with).

Here is the link to it - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1y3arC ... sp=sharing

It should be accessible to anyone, and if you think this is handy/fun, feel free to add yourself, its rather lonely being the first marker. Hope to see you on the trails. (Excuse me if there is already a function like this, I didn't see anything like it yet.)

Love it! Hope to see a few hundred markers out there soon. More curious about the overall distribution than any individual details. Great idea! :D

I'm wondering how many people will add a pin.

This is shaping up to be the geographic distribution I expected, but part of my love of hiking is a tangled up with a love of maps, and its neat to have another map.

Hey, I'm east of Gresham. ;)

Haven't added myself however. It seems a bit much...
