woman who defaced NPS sites has been sentenced by Feds
Re: woman who defaced NPS sites has been sentenced by Feds
I would have liked to have seen some jail time, personally. Even 3-6 months would have been a lot bigger wake-up call for someone like that, I suspect, than community service and probation. Still, at least it's something.

It's too bad the NPS ban isn't for life. That would have been justified.
What a moron

200 hours of community service is too lenient. It will take more NPS hours to clean the rocks of her vandalism. Interestingly, you will receive a greater penalty for picking up a rock in a national park and taking it home than for defacing many boulders. Once again, the justice system fails to meet the challenge.

This struck me as funny:
Kind of semi-related, as far as entitlement and ego: The MLK Blvd memorial gateway in Portland was tagged recently (maybe not for the first time, I don't know). Imagine the hubris of punks who tag a MLK memorial!
Yes, I'm sure there was a great deal of "sharing" involvedShe posted numerous pictures of her drawings on her social media accounts...
"This case illustrates the important role that the public can play in identifying and sharing evidence of illegal behavior in parks,"
