Just wanted to post that the flowers at the Deschutes are beautiful right now.
Especailly the Balsam Root and the Lupin. The air was heavy with the fragrance.
Another bonus is that it was dry and sunny, while dark and wet in Portland on Tuesday.
Also the geese where plentiful swimming around with their new little babies.
A perfect springtime destination.

What part of the Deschutes did you visit? The lower end near the mouth of the Columbia, or another section nearer Madras, Bend, Crooked River, etc.?Alpenglow wrote:Just wanted to post that the flowers at the Deschutes are beautiful right now.

We started at the park near the Columbia and just did the 4 mile loop.
The flowers were best on the higher, upper part of the trail, but then returned along the rushing river, which is always a treat, especially this time of year with all the geese.
