Tim & Melinda, nice photos! Thanks for posting em. Great adventure. Next time I'll take more photos of the canyon and surroundings to make a better report with.
I'm goin out this weekend to set up a game camera on that game trail we were on right above Sandstone Road. We followed that thing for a long ways, it's a natural funnel right there with the gulley through the cliffs above.

Good luck with the camera Brian. I'm sure you will get a lot of pictures since there really isn't anywhere else for game to go.
I just rechecked out Evan's pictures from his trip...I think we need to head back up in the spring Brian. Oh, one more thing...your videos look really neat. The slow-mo effect is cool.

I just want to go down to Wash Creek to see that overturned bridge again. That is on my list for next year.BrianEdwards wrote:You'd be correct, Paul. We need to make a big shuttle hike through the fish creek drainage next year.
Seriously, I think adventure follows Brian around. He is like the Chuck Norris of adventure!

Now that we've got a shortcut to it, we don't have an excuse not to I need to get to fall creek anyway to get it documented.

Excellent! Thank you very much for the report and the photos. I had never heard of this creek before reading your TR. The photo of Middle Whale Creek Falls is my favorite. Well done!

Tom, just checked out the map of the Clackamas Canyon Wilderness, and to my amazement, the depths of Whale Creek are already wilderness! All 4 falls are in it.
And I'll repost a couple photos of the canyon I found in my other reports:
A gnarly little narrow gorge near the first waterfall is the only way to get above it. Directly behind me is the tall west rim (not pictured)

Hey, that's good news, Brian! I'll have to study the maps more for that area -- I still don't have the various Clackamas additions in my mental map.
