Cape Sebastian plant
Cape Sebastian plant
A Cape Sebastian Unidentified [not yet] Flowering Object. I went through my Coastal Plants and Turner references but had no luck. Anyone? It was located south of Gold Beach on the Cape Sebastian hike to Hunters Cove. Near to the beach, in the forest. Great hike by the way! Tons of wild iris in full bloom.

Don't recognize that one straight off, but it's got "escaped ornamental" written all over it.
Any gardeners out there?

Re: Cape Sebastian plant
...it was the only one we saw during the hike, so that could make sense.
Re: Cape Sebastian plant
It's a Lilium; the closest one that is native to that area is pardalinum (leopard lily). However, the leaf whorls are double-layered, which makes me also think it's some kid of cultivar.
