Lolo pass road to burnt lake

Any thoughts on the access to the burnt lake trail from Lolo Pass road? Also, is there possible snow up at burnt lake? Thanks for any info

Have read several trip reports regarding Burnt Lake and East Zigzag:

1. I put in the first tracks through the snow into Burnt Lake on Sunday (6/12). The trail is completely under snow from Burnt Lake on and there are no tracks beyond Burnt Lake as of Sunday. Don?t count on following anyone?s tracks up to East Zigzag Mt.

2. I did this trail two weeks ago to the lake on snowshoes. The trail was snow covered by 3700 ft, and there was about 6 ft of snow at the lake. I couldnt' find the trail from the lake to east zig zag (POSTED 6/15/11)

Sounds like you can get to Burnt Lake, but its through snow.

Go back a few pages in the trip reports and there's one with photos from June 4th that has the conditions from two weeks ago.
