Nov vehicle access to Mt Hood trails

Post by wnshall » November 10th, 2022, 11:29 pm

Does anyone know what current conditions are on the Forest Roads to Mt Hood hikes, for example Top Spur TH or Vista Ridge TH? I'd like to try one last hike up high, probably with snowshoes, if I can get to the trailheads.

Thanks!

Trailheads off of Forest Service roads are unlikely to be accessible due to the amount of snow that has fallen. Top Spur is probably very difficult, if not impossible, to get to right now. You might have better luck with a lower trailhead such as Ramona Falls or Burnt Lake, but I saw a post on Facebook a few days ago showing a car that had slid off the icy road to the Burnt Lake Trailhead.

take Lolo Pass road as far as you can. They plow it sometimes.

then use snowshoes to walk towards Ramona Falls, Burnt Lake, etc.
