Badger Lake in September?

Post by TD_Dan » September 15th, 2022, 10:51 am

Hi all, I've not been to Badger Lake on the east side of Mt. Hood, but had a thought to try it this weekend. Either hiking up the creek trail; or, depending on the company, possibly braving the drive in, then hiking around, exploring from there. I've just heard the lake gets nearly drained by this time of year, though. Does anyone have insights as to likely lake conditions? (And road conditions for a Subarbu?)

Thanks!

All I can say is I hiked six miles up the creek from the bottom last week and it was running decently. Since the lake has a concrete spillway that cannot be adjusted, I assume the lake is still full - I kind of doubt that side streams below the lake would have it running like that. But that's not from direct observation.
