Laurance Lake Road

The road to Laurance Lake is now listed as high clearance since they recently reopened it. Has anybody been up there to say just how good/bad it is? Do you need a Hummer or could a Subie make it?

I have been up there twice since they reopen the road, which was about three weeks ago. Made it with no problems in a Jeep Patriot, without using 4WD. No need for a Hummer. A Subie, be it a Outback or Forrester should be no problem. The repaired section is about a quarter mile long with dirt, gravel and rocks. It is really only the up and over in the new culvert area where caution is needed. Only “hiked” to the upper part of the lake with my float tube, where fishing was exceptional both nights before the heat wave. Exceptional, means that one night I caught and released my age in fish and since I’m old, that is a lot of fish.
