Russ Jolley sign history?

Post by woodswalker » November 28th, 2021, 5:28 am

Hi all, A friend got a nice photo of the Devils Rest "Devil on a sled" sign. I know I've read here and there on this site over the years about those signs. I searched this morning and couldn't find the info I was looking for. I love the one of the bear over in the Wygant Peak area. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the history of those signs. I thought I remember that Russ made them? Thanks all

I think it was Basil Clark, a (former?) Mazama member. There were some at Trapper Creek too- might have been lost with fire.

Thanks! A friend just posted on a separate thread that it was indeed Basil Clark and there was a nice article on it.

Several of the Clark signs survived the fire at Trapper Creek. I remember seeing the "ici" sign and a few others. But further towards the fire, things were much crispier, I don't remember seeing them (or looking, alas).
