Condition of Russ Jolley Cabin: Was it burned?

Post by chrisca » May 11th, 2021, 1:08 pm

I'm trying to find out if the Russ Jolley cabin at the upper end of Horsetail Creek was burned in the Eagle Creek Fire. When I look at satellite imagery, the area looks burned but there are some green trees right near the creek. I don't have exact GPS coordinates of the cabin but do have something approximate. Anyone know? Thanks.

It was decomposing fast. Even if it survived the fire, there would be very little left now.

That's Steve Shelter, but the sturdier shelter is/was higher up the creek off Mindolovitch "trail."

Yes, just the stone foundation and metal bits of some of the tools remain.

Oh, the one I've never found. Probably an elaborate hoax to frustrate me. :|
