Sand Ridge Loop, Pasayten Wilderness?

Post by keithcomess » August 16th, 2020, 2:44 pm

Anybody done the loop from McCall Gulch (or Corral Lake) in the Pasayten Wilderness around Sand Ridge lately? The west side is on an unmaintained trail (or perhaps cross country) back to trail 502 via Whistler Ridge. News on daytime temperature and routefinding will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Keith

To answer my own question having done this last week: Route finding is pretty easy, views are nice, highly recommended.

Hey, I was hoping to get out there this year, and get up to Sheep Mountain and Ramon Lakes, as well, but, who knows, now. I definitely will plan to next summer, if not.

I am curious about the state of the trails there, and have seen just a few reports. I suppose you began at Billy Goat? Lots of downed trees? I heard the burn was bad through the Larch Creek area. Any other beta is appreciated. Thanks.
