The Famous Eagle Creek Trail

Are there any future plans for Eagle Creek Trail, or is this a matter of waiting for the area to stabilize? Just wondering...

It was in the "final phases" of preparing to reopen a year ago, when they said it could reopen "as early as this fall or as late as next summer, depending on weather and assessments of the trail’s stability." If not for the pandemic, presumably we'd be hiking it now.

Eagle Creek up to 7.5 mile camp was like the second backpacking trip I went on 15ish years ago, and I fell in love with it. My current GF is getting into hiking and camping with some prodding from me, and I really want to show her Eagle Creek. She's from Arizona originally, so she's in love with the green and water and lushness of Oregon, and Eagle Creek was always one of those places that just epitomized that. Hopefully its open by next spring.

Yup, the Forest Service had plans to open it up in the spring and had to abandon those plans because of the pandemic.
