It's honestly not that bad!
We save weight by not packing redundant things (tent, additional shelter if it's raining, sleeping pads in the summer, etc.) so in reality it's only a net add of about 17 lbs +/- from a normal backpacking trek. Divided between both of us it's only an additional 8.5 lbs each (one carries the ratchets and straps, the other carries the tent itself)... and adding less than 9 lbs for the comfort is worth it completely.
But no, I will not take it on extended treks. I'll add 9 lbs over a short distance, but adding 9 lbs on a 5-7 day trek is absolutely nutso. We will be packing the ultralight 2-man tent on our 100-miler in Yellowstone this summer, for sure.
