There were plenty on Tom Dick and Harry today. Not as well grazed as I imagine they'd be by the weekend.

The were a few near the top of Augspurger last Thursday but I think I ate most of them.
Also, I hiked up to Pechuck Lookout on Sunday and backtracked to Rooster Rock - lots of huckleberries along the trail.

We hiked to
Phantom Natural Bridge on Saturday then hiked up
Battle Ax on Sunday and found MILLIONS of huckleberries along both trails. I have never seen such an abundance of huckleberries. I think it helps that these are both seldom-traveled hikes. We couldn't eat them all, and left plenty for the next hiker.

Maybe about three weeks ago they were big and plump and juicy as they drooped over elk cove trail on hood. I blame them for my slow pace.
A couple days ago I was grabbing handfulls along timberline trail below paradise park, but they were past prime. Still pretty good though.
I bet I've enjoyed more this year than I have in all previous years combined. I'm slowing down and "smelling the roses" as I get older.
