Nash Lake

Post by christabrews » July 6th, 2019, 9:11 am

Has anyone hiked to Nash lake in Three Sisters? I'm not finding very much info or trip reports about it. Is it crowded? Bugs bad? The ODFW website says it has native cutthroats in it, so I was thinking of planning an overnight backcountry fishing trip. I think I would start from Devil's Lake, hike up Devil's Lake Trail #12 to Nash Lake #3527.

The bugs are bad everywhere in the Three Sisters right now. Cover up and bring a head net :) I've been hiking all over the wilderness lately, including somewhat near the Nash Lake area, in my rain shell and long pants, with some backup DEET for hands and exposed places.
Will break trail for beer.

I was thinking I would plan a trip there later in the year, to find a sweet spot between bugs and cold weather...if that's even possible! Were there a lot of people around that lake in particular?

as a rough rule, the less information you can find on something, the much higher likelihood it is not crowded/many people around.
This.

Also, wait a month and the bugs will be gone.
