Hi all,

Anyone have firsthand knowledge of whether McKenzie Pass is open for the season yet?

TIA!

mckenzieriverreflectionsnewspaper.com/hwy-242-reopen says "McKenzie Pass Highway (OR 242) will officially open to all traffic on Sunday, June 16th, at 9 a.m."

http://www.eurosports.us/mckenzie_pass_update is intended for bicycles but the page has the most frequent updates.

I drove up 242 from Sisters last weekend (on my way to sunriver) and while the gate was closed, I think it was one of those seasons where the road was clear and just not open yet. I hiked up Big Lake area on memorial day weekend, and there was just scattered handfulls of snow, and its been warm and melty since then.

I don't really know what you're asking, but the road is closed, but it would be fine for hiking/biking.
