Is the Marble Mountain Snow Park gate open on Rd 83? Is the road clear to Lava Canyon and Ape Canyon?

How about Sheep Canyon/ Blue Lake TH at the end of Rd 8123?

Last year I relied on USFS site for my updates, and I remember feeling skeptical that I was getting valid info.

A phone call sometimes is better than using the web site. The USFS doesn't often have up to the minute trail conditions. On roads and gates they usually know what's up. But if someone answers you here, that's best of all.

They *say* that 83 is open to Lava Canyon and that 81 is *open but not maintained*. No report on the 8123 to the Blue Lake TH.

I usually believe it if the date on the FS website is within the past few weeks, other than that I'm pretty skeptical.

You are good to go with the 81 road... open for business... gates are all unlocked.

And here I am, alpine season 2019, time to get out the sunscreen and get above treeline.
I only have two real adventures planned, so the rest of the summer will be just playing around.
