Any reports on Mt McLoughlin? I am interested in trail condition, need for spikes, how much snow/postholing. Thank you.

Snow amounts were low last winter and it's been hot (on and off) for several weeks. Much has melted. If there's any snow left up there, it's in small, easily avoided, patches. Expect a hike, not a snow climb.

Late reply, but maybe still helpful?

We summited McLoughlin on June 2. There was a mild amount of snow cover remaining at the higher end of the forested section. As the tree cover diminished, so did the snow on the route. There were a few spots where it was easier to use spots of snow or the snowfield adjacent to the ridge, but you could've probably gone the rest of the way entirely dry that day and I'm sure you can now.

There was a short narrow ridge of snow the led to the summit but I'd think that's dry now too.
