Twin Lakes water level/swimming quality?

Post by robinmotion » July 18th, 2017, 5:47 pm

Hi,

Taking my 5-year-old daughter on our annual backpacking trip; anyone been to the Twin Lakes (the ones on Hood via the Frog Lake Sno-Park) recently and able to speak to the water levels, swimming quality, or anything else of note?

Thanks!

Water quality? You have to filter the water for drinking from most any lake. For swimming, the lower lake is deeper and the water is nice. For crowds, everyone else seems to share this belief. The upper lake is shallow.

I was up there a few weeks ago. I didn't swim, but the water looked very clear. It's quite deep and we're thinking about heading back up there to swim sometime this summer. I believe that on hot days you're going to have big crowds, especially on the weekends.
