Is there something you have in mind tat would prohibit it? Gennerally, 50' ft is too close for any waterbody if fr no other reason than trampling vegetation and causing erosion which dumps nurients into the lake/creek. And the shallow lake has rapid exchange in summer. I've camp up there, but not within the bowl that is the watershed. Followed the trail around the lake and climb he scree ridge on the northside and camped up there with spectacular views of lake, Park Medows, 3Sisters, etc. It's very very popular as a easy 2 mile day hike hike from the parking area at 7000', and photogs often arrive just before sunrise to catch East light. No trees shrubs anywherre nearby so your, ummm, daily living activites have no privacy. Prefilter your water to (try) remove the glaicer silt..
