Summer Adventure recommendations?

Post by Reckless » June 27th, 2012, 7:56 am

Looking for an epic place for my best friend and I to camp out for 4 days at the end of July. Looking for it to be hot and sunny with minimal crowds. Hiking and kayaking are the primary activities we are hoping to do... I'm thinking eastern OR/WA somewhere... but where would have camping without the resorts nearby?

It sounds like you want eastern Oregon. You can generally avoid the crowds in the Wallowas if you avoid Wallowa Lake. You could also hang out in Hells Canyon but remember: it gets HOT there in summer.

A trip down the Grand Ronde River might fill the bill. Never hiked in the area or rafted the river but been in the area and its nice.

Chief Joseph Canyon might be nice.
