Trail conditions

Has anyone been up Tanner since the big storms in January? Just wondering about how much blowdown to expect.

Haven't been up there but a couple of friends have. The access road to the Tanner TH had a ton of blow-down on it and some of it very large and precarious. A lot of the smaller was cut and removed by volunteers and there is good passage now but be forewarned. From the actual TH upward, things are not bad and the trail in good shape. The friends only went to the Tanner Cut-off but said things were relatively clear and only 3 or 4 trees that needed to be removed. BTW, the Tanner Cut-off has had work done on it and it is much cleaner now so that might be an option for a good loop hike - about 15 miles similar to going all the way to the Butte but you avoid the high snow (if it is up there). Hope this helps.

Thanks! That does help. If it's passable to the cutoff then at least I can make a good day hike out of it. Good to know about the cutoff getting cleaned also; I haven't been on that yet. :)
