Your car shuttle idea is a good one. I love that area but haven't been up there for about five years. I used to take my kids up there to hike, pick berries and sometimes camp. We would pick berries until we were stuffed! Beautiful area.

beautiful trip out!

I'd be pretty interested in the car shuttle idea, allows a lot more options to open up without having to back-track in many cases.

With all deference to hiking with new partners, unless things are a good match, sometimes just sticking with one's usual routine is what works best, no? We all have our idiosyncrasies (I know I do!), but the key handoff is kind of a neat way to do it. get to share the experience with people but not the whole thing.
