John, thanks for the report and pics. I'll be heading up the Thorpe drainage to get to Sacajawea Mt. in four weeks if the weather holds.

I was wondering what that was. It was, as you say, all over the Wallowas when I was there last September. It really does give the hills an amazing look.

I'll be heading up the Thorpe drainage to get to Sacajawea Mt. in four weeks if the weather holds.
Take me with, I want to tackle that thing again but this time use the BC Creek ridge trail that
looked like it might go all the way up to the ridge.

Eric, I wish I could! I have to go to Spokane via a circuitous way seeing business customers on the way over a three day route. Still not sure my exact route - may try for Sac on the way up and try to tag the high points of Asotin, Garfield and Columbia counties on the way back or visa-versa. Anyway, altogether, it's a 50+ mile total hike and >10k vertical thing. I know you could do all of this but the scheduling is problematic.
