I put up a really basic archive of the old trip reports as well as off-trail trip reports, from when we used the old forum software.
http://www.portlandhikers.org/archive/
The images don't yet work if they were hosted at portlandhikers.com, but external ones do. All the text should be there at least. Update: Most images should now be working.
Someday it will hopefully be searchable and sortable.

Re: Trip Report Archive
Some images don't work because they had to be deleted from flickr so I wouldn't have to pay to post new ones!
Thank you, Don, for doing this!!!

Re: Trip Report Archive
Your efforts are appreciated, thanks for bringing this stuff back from the dead - the page of links almost reads like a trail guide... There's a lot of useful information in those old trip reports.

Re: Trip Report Archive
Thanks, Dan -- looks great! Glad I kept all those linked images piling up in the same folder on my Splintercat domain, too!

Re: Trip Report Archive
That's awesome Dan, thanks for doing that! Lots of great info there. Any chance the portlandhikers.com hosted photos will eventually link up?

Re: Trip Report Archive
There are a couple reasons the portlandhikers.com images aren't up.
One is the way they are linked to by the old forum software. Instead of directly linking to the images, it linked to a script that would know which image to display. This is just a matter of me taking the time to fix the links.
The other is a limitation imposed by our web host. They are a shared host and instead of limiting your disk space or transfer, they limit the # of files you can have. Because of this, I don't want to upload all the old images to our web host. I'm thinking we could put them on an Amazon S3 store and the cost would be minimal (like a couple bucks a month), as I don't see the archive generating a bunch of traffic.

Re: Trip Report Archive
I got bored and now most of the images are up on an S3 store. The images in the trip reports have been rerouted and should automatically load from S3 now.
I say most, because there are several different formats that the images are linked in and some of them don't work. The images are online, but I still need to clean up the rest of the links.

Re: Trip Report Archive
!!?! Then could you write us some code that will enable searches within individual Forums? Like, so we can list all our Trip Reports? (Heh, heh.)Martell wrote:I got bored

You can already do that, using the Search button on the top.
Unless you are talking about from the archive?

Yeah. No worries. I didn't post any Trip Reports until after the switch-over, so I'm good.Martell wrote:talking about from the archive?
