Summit Springs 10-27-23

Post by ChrisA » November 5th, 2023, 6:23 pm

I followed the trail to the quarry as described in the field guide. I have passed this trail many times, but wasn't sure if it was worth going to. It was a pleasant surprise. The trail was in great shape and the road from Sunset Falls campground was also really good. We had the trail to ourselves except for one mountain biker near the end of our out and back. We took the steeper route option down to make a lollipop loop. There were some nice fall colors and views of snow covered hilltops. The snow is most likely gone by now.

That is a gorgeous view on a gorgeous day. I'm glad road 41 was in good shape to that point.

Nice to know the trail is being maintained, I assume by bikers.
