Hiked in from the Placid Lake TH and detoured to Wood Lake. Hiked around the lake, although the trail only went about 1/2 way around.

Indian Heaven and Lemei Peak
Attempted to summit Lemei Rock during a visit to Indian Heaven a week ago, but stopped about 35' short of the top. Still a great hike, love Indian Heaven in the fall and my first time up Lemei.
Hiked in from the Placid Lake TH and detoured to Wood Lake. Hiked around the lake, although the trail only went about 1/2 way around. Camped at Clear Lake and in the morning day hiked to Lemei. Luckily, the skies cleared but it was very windy.
We encountered one group of four hikers over the two days, weekday and inclement weather must have kept the other hikers away.

People stay away because of the calendar even if the weather is good.
