Paradise Park 8/2/2023

Post by Jett Powered » October 10th, 2023, 2:33 pm

Apparently I never did post a proper trip report...

Everything lined up perfectly and I had perfect weather and a wonderful experience doing an overnight trip to Paradise Park on Mt. Hood. Thanks to retired jerry, teachpdx, and chip down for the guidance. The suggested camping spot was fantastic. There were definitely others hoping to camp there but I got to it first. :)

I took a ton of photos and while they turned out pretty good, none of them are nearly as impressive as being there in person. I'll be returning to this area in the future.

I tried to get there in September but it was occupied. And there were maybe 20 tents all over within 0.1 mile, must have been a group. Maybe thru hikers, but it was a little early in the day for them.

Not to worry, I took "the trail" down to the PCT and there was a fine site there.

Incredible pics, especially the sunset ones.
Weather looked like a perfect day.

I swear that sunset lasted 3 or 4 hours. It started early and just went on forever. Even got to see the tiniest bit of green flash as the last bit of sun disappeared.

I'd love to hear about this 'trail' and awesome campsite. Paradise gets so crowded. Nice sun set

I was just trying to determine if blurr123 was a human or a bot.

Bots don't reply
