Start: Dutchman Snow Park
Parking: Large, paved lot. No passes (that I was aware of).
Distance: 4 miles RT
Gain: 1,400'
Summit: 7,700'
Directions: Started by restrooms. At the only junction, almost immediately, I went straight. Followed trail to the summit; there were a few different mini loops near the summit but they were all very short and led to the summit.
Conditions: Wide, mostly open, dusty trail. Easy steepness most of the way, with a few short moderately steep sections.
Worth it?: If you only have 3 hours available, then yes. If you have a full day, go do something bigger and less crowded!

It's a terrific backcountry ski, too. But same as your advice: it's a relatively short trip, and makes the most sense if you only have half a day.
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.
