(1) I LOVE this site and have been relying on it for a decade now!
(2) Given the condition of the Neahkahnie Mountain from South Hike trail, I'd recommend changing the rating. I managed to get my kids up to the summit and back safely, but it was anything but 'easy' and 'family-friendly'. We talked with several other families on the trail who were equally surprised about the difficulty level. The trail has significant erosion, with exposed roots and some cliff-side washouts, as well as the scramble to the summit having loose rocks that are challenging for kids. I think a 'moderate' and 'no' to family-friendly would be more appropriate.
