I was coming home from Seattle so had to find a place to backpack on the way home. I did Goat Rocks and southwest side of Mt Adams already, so this seemed like a good choice.
4 nights. No rain. 30 F to 60 F. Last of the backpacking season?
Nice views of Mt Adams
Campsite at Killen Creek
There was drinking water and places to camp at the Lewis River (1/2 mile on PCT south of Divide Trail), Killen Creek, and the stream at Foggy Flat. Adams Creek and the two streams past Foggy Flat were pretty silty for drinking, easy to cross.
Hiking out the last day it snowed. Back at my truck:
I think this might be the end of alpine backpacking this year. I went until the last night.
Someone passed me that camped at High Camp that last night. It was 30 F and breezy where I was. I can't imagine what High Camp was like.
