We hiked down to Punch Bowl Falls earlier this month. The hike and the waterfall were beautiful! It's definitely a bit of a scramble at the end over rocks and logs in light of some landslide damage, but we were able to climb over the rocks and get a great view of the falls from below.
Since the Eagle Creek trail has more sun exposure, it's on the dry side this time of year. I think it would be best in the spring or fall. Hiking down into the canyon to the Punch Bowl was great; lots of ferns and water dripping down the mossy cliffs . Very welcome on a hot day!
We made a video of the hike, including how to get over the logs/rocks to reach the lower waterfall viewpoint.
